CHANDIGARH: Dhruv Kodan, 19, has made the city proud. An emerging soccer player, he has also won 'Athlete of the year-2015' award in Chandigarh besides having dozens of national and international awards under his cap.
He has also perfectly balanced sports and academics.
"My dad was a former football player and I kicked the ball for the very first time when I was around 5 years of age.
I clearly remember that it was a winter day. I grew up studying and playing like any other normal kid and at the age of 12 I was put under the coaching of Bhupinder Singh," said Dhruv
He added, "My dad has always been my idol, a true inspiration. He has a football club and he has a big hand in all my achievements and success."
Besides breakthrough achievements in the big league, Dhruv has also proved his worth on the academics front by scoring 10 CGPA in Class X. He is all ready to fight and remove any obstacles that come in the away of his dreams.
"I really don't have any idea why I chose football. But now I cannot just live without it and I play for refreshing myself. I've opted for medical stream and it's very difficult to strike a balance between academics and sports at one time but it's not impossible," said Dhruv.
He also has a dream. "I want to sponsor a team someday".
